The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the SASKATOON INTRO TO YOGA 17 OCT 2026 is now open.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Soldier On, in collaboration with Pure Living Yoga, will conduct a one-day 75 minute introductory level yoga session in Saskatoon, SK, on Saturday, October 17th, 2026.
This session is designed to provide the participant with the knowledge, techniques and skills required to perform basic yoga positions / moves and assist with down regulating the nervous system. Participants are welcome to bring their own mat/straps/bolsters, but participants will be provided with a yoga mat and any adaptive aids if they do not possess them. Up to eight (8) participants will receive one-on-one assistance and feedback from experienced instructors.
This activity will bring together both serving and retired ill/injured CAF members, allowing participants to connect through peer support and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. It will also provide an opportunity for Soldier On participants to learn basic yoga techniques through instruction and coaching.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from the Dundurn / Saskatoon and surrounding area (100 km) who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.
Selected
Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
17 Oct 2026:
-1315 hrs: Arrive at Pure Living Yoga + check in with Soldier On Staff;
-1330-1445 hrs: Conduct event; &
-1445-1500 hrs: Clean up and Departure.

Mental & Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to tolerate
1.5 hours of light-moderate paced activities. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day.
Participants
must be able to get from laying (prone and supine) to standing without issue or being in violation of their MELs.
Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.
